Suri is finally 18 and now her mother Katie Holmes is ready to speak out

Tom Cruise seemed to have no worries last week, dancing to Coldplay at Glastonbury. However, according to sources, that could all change now that his ex-wife Katie Holmes is free of their custody agreement and apparently very open to talking.

US media sources confirm that the 45-year-old actress is once again receiving “multi-million dollar offers” from major news networks, including Oprah Winfrey’s team, for her first interview on the most explosive divorce in Hollywood history.

FINALLY READY TO TALK

“Since Suri turned 18, Katie has been inundated with mind-blowing offers to tell her side of the story,” a source said. “And she has a lot to say.”

“Now that Suri is in direct contact with her father, everything has changed for Katie. However, she is still unsettled by the idea of giving an interview about topics she has not been able to fully discuss, even in private.”

No one can forget the shock of Katie’s furtive divorce in 2012, which shocked Scientologist Tom, 61, and the world. Yet friends say she knew she wouldn’t be completely free for another 12 years.

With the help of her lawyer father, Martin Holmes, Katie managed to “miraculously” walk away from the marriage with full custody of their daughter Suri. But that tied the actress to a custody agreement until Suri turned 18, after which a new agreement between Tom and Suri would take into account her school fees, safety and general well-being.

“Suri’s birthday was a huge milestone of ‘liberation’ for both of them,” the source said. “For the first time in decades, she finally feels free, even in the little things, like not having to see her name on his bank account for custody payments.”

“It’s like a weight has been lifted off her and she’s ready to talk about her story.”

WHO WOULD GET THE SCOOPER?

According to the source, Oprah would be the perfect person to conduct the highly anticipated interview. “She knows Tom and has the skills to handle any conflicts that might arise,” the source explains. “There are still very strict confidentiality agreements in place limiting what Katie can and can’t talk about.”

“But there are ways around this. Katie would be foolish not to seriously consider these offers.”

However, Katie’s friends say that Katie’s main concern will always be Suri. “She would never do anything without Suri’s approval,” the source adds. “If an interview could upset or hurt Suri in any way, she wouldn’t do it.”

“Katie feels uncomfortable opening up about what was a traumatic time for both of them. But she knows it can be done in a sensitive way.

“She also knows that Tom will never forgive her for abandoning him and the last thing she wants to do is tease the bear.”
