Brilliant moment Caitlin Clark gets soaked by teammates after record-breaking final night…and fans love her ‘humble’ reaction

Caitlin Clark was once again the center of attention in the Indiana Fever locker room on Saturday night after recording the first-ever rookie triple-double in WNBA history.

Her incredible on-field performance against the Phoenix Mercury further cemented her Rookie of the Year credentials, and her teammates were quick to congratulate (and shower!) her after the game.

In a brilliant moment captured on video, Clark is congratulated by her head coach, before being doused with water by her adoring colleagues.

“That’s the first time a rookie has had a triple-double in franchise history,” Christie Sides can be heard saying, before pointing to Clark sitting next to her.

This sparked scenes of jubilation, with the team rushing towards her and emptying their water bottles over her head, much to Clark’s surprise.

She sits down and receives the display of affection, before wringing out her jersey as she is given the match ball.

Clark’s reaction then left the internet even more in love with her, as she praised the rest of the team, rather than taking all the credit herself.

“Good job everyone,” the 22-year-old can be heard saying.

Fans quickly took to social media to praise the “humble” reaction, with one noting: “She doesn’t like to draw attention to herself in intimate moments or in the locker room.

“She shows her true personality on the field…what a team player and person…great job Caitlin Clark, you are truly special.”

Another added: “Of course she’s giving the team a shout out because she’s the most humble player in the wnba!!!!”

In the 83-78 victory over the New York Liberty, Clark scored 19 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had 13 assists.

The WNBA No. 1 overall pick was one rebound away from a triple-double two games ago in an 88-82 road win over the Phoenix Mercury.

Clark scored 11 points in the first quarter, hitting 3 of 4 three-pointers. She topped 10 assists in the third quarter and topped 10 rebounds in the fourth.

Despite the performance, not everyone in the WNBA agrees on who should win Rookie of the Year — with Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky teammates firmly siding with Bayou Barbie.

Chennedy Carter, who led the team with 33 points in Chicago’s recent win over Seattle, told ION after the game that Reese deserves to be the frontrunner to be recognized as the league’s best young player — not Clark.

“Barbie is rookie of the year. There’s no other way to say it,” Carter said.

“She goes out, she does her job every night, no matter what team we’re playing. I’m telling you, Barbie is the rookie of the year, for sure.”
