The 30-year-old has been sporting her diamond engagement ring all season, with a number of photos on social media showing it proudly displayed on her finger. But last Friday night, during Channel 9’s coverage of the season, Preliminary clash between the Panthers and the Warriorsthe ring was visibly missing.

In light of the news that Mason and Liubinskas had called off their wedding, many have pointed out the fact that Mason was not wearing a ring during a post-game interview with Stephen Crichton. “I went up to the stands because Stephen Crichton has a lot of support around him,” Mason said of speaking to the Panthers star and his family.

Just 24 hours later, Mason was leading Nine’s pre-match coverage Broncos and Warriors game – and once again the ring was missing. Mason’s ability to show up for work and put on a good show in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers across Australia is to be commended. She will do the same on Sunday night for Nine’s coverage NRL Grand Final between Panthers and Broncos.

Danika Mason ‘beyond devastated’ by wedding cancellation

Mason’s relatives described her as “beyond devastated” and “completely heartbroken” by the breakdown of the relationship. A former partner of Liubinskas has since said the Daily Mail“I just hope Danika wasn’t caught off guard like I was or that she didn’t experience something similar. If so, my heart goes out to her.”

THE Daily Mail also reported that Liubiunskas arranged for a third party to contact Mason and told him to “immediately” return the engagement ring he gave her when he popped the question in 2021. “(The third party) insisted that she would not publicly discuss the breakup with the media and asked him to return the ring,” the report said. Mail quoted an “insider close to Mason.”

Liubinskas is reportedly keen to get his ring back as it is considered a “family heirloom”. It is believed to be a custom piece designed by Sydney jeweller Sam Rahme, who also designs the NRL championship rings given to grand final-winning players. Mason and Liubinskas were due to marry on October 27 at Greystone Estate in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley.
