Owners of popular iPhone should consider urgent upgrade after Apple’s latest update

Apple has just confirmed that one of its most popular iPhones has now been placed on the “vintage” list.

If you haven’t updated your iPhone in a while, it might be time to consider upgrading to something new. Apple has just updated its list of devices it now considers “vintage,” with the ever-popular iPhone X now being given that “mature” classification.

While Apple continues to support and repair “vintage” products, the company says gadgets are added to this category after being discontinued and sold more than 5 years and less than 7 years ago.

Owners shouldn’t encounter any issues at this point, but it does mean that this phone is now on the verge of being added to the dreaded “obsolete” list. That’s when all support ends and service providers can no longer order parts, meaning the devices can no longer be repaired.

Anyone who owns an iPhone X should probably consider upgrading to something new, or they could end up with a calling device that no longer works.

For those who don’t know, the iPhone X was the first Apple device to ditch the fingerprint scanner and instead add Face ID technology. This not only made unlocking the screen faster, but also much more secure.

Launched in 2017, it also features a fast A11 Bionic processor, an all-screen design that ditched the thick chin, and a striking stainless steel body.

These features have made it one of Apple’s most popular iPhones, with some reports suggesting that it has sold over 12 million units.

If the news that the iPhone X is now categorized as “vintage” has got you itching for a makeover, it’s best to wait. Rumors suggest the iPhone 16 will arrive in September and could be faster and last longer thanks to a bigger battery. It’s also likely to have a better rear camera, a brighter display, and be ready for Apple Intelligence.
