Watch: Angel Reese Shocked After Zoom Press Conference Replays ‘Intimate Relationships’ Conversation in Background

Angel Reese found herself in an unexpected and uncomfortable situation during a postgame press conference. As she was answering questions about her impressive feat of breaking the WNBA’s record for consecutive double-doubles, a mishap at the microphone revealed an awkward conversation going on in the background.

Angel Reese was shocked during her Zoom press conference

A woman’s voice was heard asking about the possibility of an intimate relationship, leading to an uncomfortable exchange as another participant quickly shut down the topic. Reese, visibly taken aback, asked for clarification before the incident was addressed and muted by staff.

The virtual postgame press conference turned into an unexpected surprise moment for Reese as well as teammate Marina Mabrey and coach Teresa Weatherspoon when a woman’s voice was heard saying, “Are we ever going to have an intimate relationship?”

To which a man’s voice could be heard responding: “Oh my God, this is an uncomfortable subject.”

As Reese found herself in a state of complete discomfort, she spoke up and said, “Excuse me,” prompting a staff member to help her by asking the reporter on the Zoom call to repeat his question.

Although, from what appeared in several rooms, the voices in the background were from the television series The Big Bang Theory, when Amy was trying to seduce Sheldon but then gave up and simply confronted him about the “intimate relationship.”

Angel Reese broke Candace Parker’s record

In a tough 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm, Chicago Sky power forward Angel Reese broke an illustrious record previously held by WNBA great Candace Parker.

Despite the distraction of the unusual background conversation, Angel Reese’s on-court performance last night was nothing short of historic. The talented rookie now holds the WNBA record for most consecutive double-doubles by a player in league history, surpassing the previous mark set by Candace Parker.

In the game against the Storm, Reese finished with 17 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and one block in 40 minutes of play. His consistent efforts throughout the season, averaging nearly a double-double per game, further solidified his claim to the Rookie of the Year award.
