Dutch middle-distance and long-distance runner Sifan Hassan is a true legend in her sport. Sifan came to the Netherlands from Ethiopia at the age of 15 and discovered her passion for running while studying to become a nurse. A few years later, she found herself competing on the stage of her dreams: the Olympic Games. That’s because Sifan has never shied away from a challenge. In fact, she has chased challenges her entire life.

Sifan’s courage, perseverance and passion have enabled her to achieve a series of remarkable and unprecedented feats. At Tokyo 2020, she became the first and only athlete in Olympic history to win medals in the 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000 metres at the same Games, taking gold in the latter two events.

Throughout her career, Sifan has always wanted to participate in different running events and learn new ways to continue competing at the highest level. The Olympic champion now has her sights set on making history at Paris 2024, with the aim of inspiring hopefuls around the world to run for their dreams. After all, Sifan knows that anything is possible when challenges are faced with an open mind and determination.
