‘Sunny room’ for rent at ₹81,000 per month is actually a balcony in Sydney: ‘Pay for the view’ | Trending

The balcony of an apartment in the heart of Sydney was being offered for rent as a “room” for the astonishing price of 360 Australian dollars per week (more than ₹81,000 per month), leaving Internet users perplexed.

An ad posted on Facebook Marketplace earlier this month offered a “room” to rent in Haymarket, in the central business district of Sydney, Australia’s largest city.

The ad describes the balcony as a “sunny room” that can accommodate one person. The $360 per week rent includes utilities, the ad states.

From the listing photo, the room is a tiled enclosed space, equipped with amenities such as blinds, a few rugs, a mirror, a single bed and a chest of drawers.

The balcony features sliding glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows. The sliding door connects the balcony to the rest of the property, which is a two-bedroom apartment, available to rent separately for $1,300 per week, including utilities.

The advertiser wrote: “Share the bathroom with only one person.”

The same post was shared on X (former Twitter), with a caption: “Are you kidding me, bro?”
