Meet the Court: Princess Peyton Lindsey

Meet the Court: Princess Peyton Lindsey

Princess Peyton Lindsey is the daughter of Austin and Robyn Lindsey, and sister to Isaac, 19, and Colten, 13.

She chose to raise money for the Sweet Home Women’s Fire Association, which is involved in many aspects of community volunteerism, including the Christmas sharing tree, monthly exercise dinners, turkey bingo and scholarships for women entering the medical field.

“I chose them because this organization does a lot for our community and its residents, but it doesn’t get a lot of attention or money raised for it.”

In high school, Lindsey participated in cheerleading, wrestling, and class council, and coached the youth and mint cheerleading squads. She currently works for Sunshine Espresso.

Her personal goals for high school next year are to apply for scholarships, visit five colleges she is interested in, and most importantly, create the most unforgettable memories with my friends and cheerleading squad.

Lindsey joined the Sportsman’s Holiday Court because, she says, she has always loved the city’s annual event.

“So I wanted to share my love for the community while raising money for a good cause,” she said.

His favorite sporting tradition is the parade.

“Watching all the floats and people participating in something in or for Sweet Home is one of my favorite things,” she said.

She says the best place to watch the parade is in front of the high school. And her best advice for parade-goers? “I would recommend bringing a comfortable chair, lots of water, sunscreen and shade.”

Now that she’s on holiday court, Lindsey said she’s looking forward to the parade.

“I love seeing the princesses every year, so being able to be one this year in the parade is so fun and amazing,” she said.

If she could meet someone from another decade and have dinner with them, Lindsey said she would love to meet Marilyn Monroe because she was a feminist icon and fought for gender equality.

As part of this year’s Sportsman’s Holiday theme, “Diamonds and Decades,” Lindsey was asked which decade she identifies with fashion-wise.

“Definitely the 90s,” she replied. “I love their fashion and I think it’s the cutest thing ever.”

Lindsey described how she would introduce Sweet Home to a friend.

“I would start the day with breakfast at The Point, then we would go for a hike on the beautiful McDowell Creek Trail. From there we would go to the hatchery and feed the fish.”

For lunch, they would go to the famous A&W for root beer soda, cheese curds and a hamburger. Then she would take her friend to the movies to see a movie.

“We then ended our day where we started it, at The Point, eating incredible food while watching the sunset over the lake from the terrace.”

Her favorite thing about Sweet Home is that everyone knows everyone in the community and they are always there for each other.

“A lot of communities are not like ours,” she said. “We are there for those in need and we are always willing to help anyone no matter what. Our small businesses get so much love from everyone, it’s beautiful, amazing and wonderful.”
