Marc Cucurella, a rebellious man, ready to experience the greatest moment of his career

Marc Cucurella has had a difficult time since joining Chelsea, sometimes becoming something of a joke after some admittedly comical moments.

But the last few months have seen a real change – his club form improved, earning him a spot in the Spain squad for the Euros, and he hasn’t looked back since. He’s really impressed with The Red one and took the press conference today before their match against France tomorrow night.

He was in a provocative mood, as one might expect:

“Nobody gave me anything, so I’m very happy right now. I knew that if I worked hard and gave my best, it could happen. It’s a dream to be here and a lot of people would give everything they have to be where I am,” he commented.

He seems to be enjoying every moment of it and we are delighted to see it. Even the Blues who want to sell him will appreciate how the demand for his services increases with each impressive performance.

A new breath of life

We were the first to criticize Cucurella for his flaws and bad games, and we’re not going to stop there. But there’s nothing better in life (let alone football) than a redemption story, and there’s nothing we’d love more than to be proven wrong by a guy who is incredibly likeable as a person and as a character, even if his football is frustrating at times.

Perhaps the coaching qualities of new coach Enzo Maresca, along with the new system he will introduce at Chelsea, will be just what we need to see Cucurella eliminate these fatal flaws and become a true top player? We certainly haven’t given up on the idea, and we’re already looking forward to seeing him in action.

But first, let’s see if he can bring a Euro winner’s medal back to Stamford Bridge!
