Better said,

I was shocked! I was devastated, actually, for her. And obviously, for me, very sad to leave at that time. In my career, so far, I’ve died in many different ways. I’ve been burned, strangled, hanged, bitten by a venomous snake. It’s sad. But I’ve never fallen off a dragon. I don’t think that can be beaten, actually. It’s quite sensational.

I was thinking about all the other Game of Thrones deaths I could remember, as well as the ones that have happened so far in (HoTd). And I thought, her death is pretty fantastic. She gives it her all, being a 100% hero, through and through, in every way possible. She’s their best fighter. She’s their best woman. A lot of deaths in Game of Thrones can be really humiliating and unpleasant and disgusting. And this is a really heroic and very noble death.

It may have been sad for Best to say goodbye to such an unforgettable character, but she certainly acknowledges the fact that Rhaenys got the heroic and noble death she deserves.

Then there was this long pause because they have to electronically prepare all the movements of the deer; it takes a long time. And then they have to prepare it with a stuntman to make sure everything goes well. There’s this long wait for this moment, which is actually a split-second moment where she falls off the dragon, but it was just a little tricky.

I thought, “Okay, we’re going to do this in a bunch of different ways. In your head, you think this is going to be a really big, meaningful moment.” And then we did it, we did two takes, and that was it.

Since there was a lot of preparation for the scene, even Best was puzzled by how quickly it was completed. Well, I guess when you’re an actor as talented as Best, a scene this complex only takes a few tries to pull off.
