The plane was supposed to have stopped at the end of the runway. Emergency vehicles then went to the scene. Passengers and crew were evacuated and the plane was sent to the terminal, said Alfredo Garduno, a spokesman for American Airlines. No one was injured.

American Airlines said in a statement that Flight 590 “encountered a mechanical issue on the runway prior to takeoff.” “We do not want to disrupt our customers’ travel plans and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” the airline said. Passengers were reportedly transferred to an alternate flight.

The FAA said in a statement: “American Airlines Flight 590 aborted its takeoff from Tampa International Airport at approximately 7:50 a.m. local time on Wednesday, July 10, after the crew reported multiple flat tires. Passengers deplaned on the taxiway and were transported by bus to the terminal. The flight was en route to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The FAA will investigate. Please contact the airline for more information.”

“It’s becoming so commonplace that no one pays attention to it anymore.”

Many shocked netizens commented on the video above, with one exclaiming: “Wow. If this had happened when the plane reached its destination and landed, it could have been really disastrous. Thank goodness it happened before it took off.” “Good job pilot. I’m not sure he would have had time to stop if the runway had been much shorter,” wrote one netizen, while another said: “I haven’t flown in a long time. This is becoming so common that no one bats an eyelid anymore.”

“A big thanks to the pilot for his quick thinking. Only competent people should be airline pilots. Hopefully they never start hiring pilots based on DEI requirements,” one user wrote, while another said, “This is a failure of the ground crews, as well as the pilots who blindly trust the documents/reports they receive. Remember, DEI is the main goal of hiring, NOT skills or knowledge.”
