Roger Federer meets Taylor Swift at Eras Tour show in Zurich: see the photo

Taylor Swift may be a football fanatic these days, but she’s also making time to meet the big names in other sports. After her first Eras Tour concert in Zurich on Tuesday (July 9), the pop star chatted with Roger Federer backstage, after which the tennis champion posted a selfie of their meeting and declared his love for the musician.

In the snap, which appears to have been taken by Swift herself, Federer is seen wearing a VIP badge around his neck as he smiles at the camera. The Anti-Hero singer is also smiling at the camera, still sporting the finals logo Midnight leotard she wears at the very end of her show.

“Back in my Swiftie days 🦋🫶💜🧣🌃🐍💘🪩🌲🕰️🤍,” the former Olympian captioned the post.

Based on his use of emojis, Federer isn’t kidding when he calls himself a “Swiftie.” Each one seems to specifically represent one of the 14-time Grammy winner’s 11 albums: a blue butterfly for his self-titled debut, a heart-shaped hand for Intrepida purple heart for Speak Nowa scarf for Redan urban landscape for 1989a snake for Reputationa pierced heart for Lovera disco ball for Folklorea tree for Alwaysa clock for Midnight and white heart for The Department of Tortured Poets.

Hours after Federer posted his selfie, Swift wrapped up her two-night stay at Switzerland’s Letzigrund stadium with a final performance on Wednesday (July 10). She will then head to Milan, where she will play two concerts at the San Siro.

And while it all worked out in the end, Travis Kelce might find his superstar girlfriend’s meeting with Federer a bit ironic. Before the Kansas City Chiefs tight end started dating Swift, he too was a professional athlete hoping to be introduced to her backstage at an Eras Tour show — but in his case, the “Karma” singer declined.

“I was disappointed that she didn’t speak before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings,” Kelce complained in an episode of his New heights Last year, a few months before he and Swift finally started dating, he said, “I was a little upset that I couldn’t give her one of the bracelets I made for her… She’s not meeting anyone, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took that personally.”
