Suspect wanted for assault at downtown Pittsburgh bus stop

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police are searching for a man accused of assaulting a person at a bus stop in downtown Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said the assault happened around 2 p.m. July 1 at a bus stop near the intersection of Smithfield Street and Sixth Avenue.

Authorities said the victim reported the suspect, who was “heavily intoxicated” and “disorderly,” was harassing people at the bus stop before kicking and hitting the victim in the head twice with a glass bottle. He also threatened the victim with a pocket knife, Pittsburgh Public Safety said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with two lacerations to the head.

The suspect, according to authorities, is between 35 and 45 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is said to have short hair, wear glasses and have a beard.
