Biden’s mistake: calling Zelensky a ‘Ukrainian’ and ‘President Putin’ in front of NATO leaders; see

In his press conference, President Joe Biden decided not to resist raising eyebrows. The US president made a major verbal error at the recent NATO summit, mistakenly referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin” in front of the assembled world leaders. The gaffe, which quickly caught the attention of the media and political commentators, highlights a series of similar missteps that have raised concerns about Biden’s focus and precision in high-stakes international settings.

“And now I want to turn it over to the President of Ukraine, who has shown both courage and determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” Biden said during his speech. He quickly realized his mistake and apologized. The awkward moment was watched by everyone in attendance, with Biden explaining that it happened because he was “so focused on beating” the Kremlin leader.

He could have let the mistake slide so easily, but Democrats won’t. The gaffe is likely to intensify demands from Democratic members of Congress for the 81-year-old to step down from his reelection campaign. Once quiet, party members are now voicing their concerns in all their glory, and the path to the White House for the president of the United States in a new election seems a little unclear.

The Internet Says “Biden Is a Disaster”

“Disappointing. I was rooting for Joe in this mess,” one user exclaimed as they watched the gaffe live on the network. “This is the worst gaffe Biden has ever made,” another said. “This is a travesty now. You couldn’t make this up if you tried,” another said. “Kamala is on deck. This is not good for Republicans. She’s going to be harder to beat than a dementia patient. Now Trump is the one getting criticized for his advanced age. Democrats are going to push for more debates. Let the fun begin.”

Democratic lawmakers want Biden to step down

To date, 13 House Democrats and one Senate Democrat have directly called on President Biden to withdraw from the race. CBS reports that this group includes Lloyd Doggett of Texas, who was among the first to suggest that Biden should drop out of the race. On July 3, Raul Grijalva of Arizona told NYPOST that Biden “has to take responsibility for keeping this seat — and part of that responsibility is to withdraw from this race.”

Democrats joining the chorus in favor of Biden’s departure include Seth Moulton of Massachusetts, Angie Craig of Minnesota and Adam Smith of Washington, among others. That list of concerned voices continues to grow, with many expressing concerns about Biden’s health and urging him to resign.
