Montezuma-Cortez school district seeks rooms to rent for new teachers

The district sent out a survey to gauge interest and availability

The Montezuma-Cortez RE-1 School District announced Wednesday that it is looking for people to rent rooms to new teachers.

“We have reliable and responsible teachers who relocate to the area from other locations in Colorado, other states and abroad,” the district said.

If community members have space in their home to rent a room to a teacher, the district has provided a survey form to complete to indicate availability and willingness to host a teacher.

The survey can be completed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z6JQ5JX. Interested individuals may also contact the district’s Human Resources team by calling (970) 565-7282 (ext. 1106).

The survey asks basic questions about whether the room offered is furnished, whether pets are welcome, whether smoking is allowed and more to find out the owner’s preference.

The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete.
