T-Shirt Quilting Workshop

Got a pile of old t-shirts taking up space in your dresser but aren’t ready to part with them because of their sentimental value? This Saturday, Stitch House is hosting a t-shirt quilting workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. to transform those t-shirts into a beautiful keepsake. Guests should bring 20 to 30 t-shirts and have basic sewing experience, but help will be available. Tickets are $100 and include two sessions, as well as backing materials and finishing.

Ashmont Friday Market

The Ashmont Friday Market (originally the Ashmont Farmers Market) was founded by Greater Ashmont Main Street in 2008. Since then, the market has become a beloved Dorchester institution held every Friday in Peabody Square! The first of the season is Friday, July 12 from 2-6pm. Enjoy live music, fresh produce, prepared foods, and activities for all ages! This fun neighborhood event takes place at the Ashmont MBTA Plaza.

Saturday Funday at Mix

Why wait until Sunday to enjoy an outdoor patio in the afternoon? The Mix is ​​hosting the return of backyard Safternoon parties this Saturday from 2-6pm with great food, ambiance, and music. Your friend’s backyard barbecue can’t compare to one of Boston’s best outdoor parties! General admission tickets are $20 and include free food while supplies last.

Infant Lifesaving and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Course

Parents, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning essential emergency response skills are invited to attend this hands-on infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation and stand-alone external defibrillator (SAED) course. Led by expert instructors certified by the American Heart Association, this course will equip participants with the skills needed to respond effectively in an emergency and infant-specific techniques. The course is held on Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. and registration is $59.95 per person. Participants will leave with an AHA CPR certification the same day.

Brewing at the zoo

Franklin Park Zoo has partnered with some of New England’s best breweries to create a one-of-a-kind tasting experience. The zoo will be open for a special beer festival this Saturday from 5-7:30 p.m. where visitors can savor the flavors while visiting the animals after hours. From hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts, there’s something for everyone. Plus, zoo educators will roam the grounds sharing wildlife facts and introducing special animal ambassadors. Tickets are $75 per person in advance or $80 at the door.

Register for the Annual Boston Harbor Ladies Challenge

The second annual Boston Harbor Ladies Sailing Challenge will be held on July 14th at the Savin Hill Yacht Club. Ticket prices include live music, lunch, a Mustang Survival Life Jackets fashion show, giveaways and more. Plus, there will be prizes for the winning boats! You can get all the details here!

Boston Little Saigon Night Market

Boston Little Saigon’s 3rd Annual Chợ Đêm at Field’s Corner is happening this weekend! Enjoy an unforgettable night of fun, games, street food, and Instagram-worthy moments while experiencing Dorchester’s vibrant culture. The night market will be open on Saturdays from 4pm to 9:30pm at Town Field Park in Dorchester. Don’t miss some of the best street food stalls and vendors Boston has to offer!

Country Festival in LOT

Saddle up for Country Fest at LOT this Saturday 13th July from 2pm to 8pm. Lace up your best boots and enjoy line dancing with Blackout Country Dancing to live music by Vincent King. There will be pony rides for kids all day and bullfighting for those who want a bit of a challenge!
