Morgan Wallen played a sold-out concert at Raymond James Stadium In Tampa Bay Thursday. He canceled his show on Friday, a few minutes before the doors opened.

At least that was the case. type of better than last time?

Wallen was scheduled to play two nights at Ole Miss in April 2023. The first night was no problem. The second night did not go as planned. It was canceled after all the opening acts had performed and everyone was already in their seats.

Wallen never took the stage and fans around the world immediately burst into tears, some of them sobbing and vowing never to listen to his music again.

Even though the tickets were refunded at the point of purchase, he was still sued for damages beyond the ticket price, such as transportation, accommodation, food and beverages. Wallen was canceled for about 48 hours.

The international country superstar eventually apologized, cited vocal cord issues and then canceled more than a month of his tour to rest. People got over it. He eventually returned to Oxford nearly a year later and tried to get Lane Kiffin to wear a UT jersey.

That didn’t happen, just like the second night of Wallen’s two nights at Raymond James.

Morgan Wallen is sick.

Friday’s show is postponed until October. As are his shows in Charlotte next week.

I hate to postpone shows, but I survived my Tampa malaise last night and unfortunately woke up feeling even worse today. I won’t be giving you 100% tonight and as a result I have to move tonight’s Tampa show to October 4th and next week’s Charlotte shows to October 18th and 19th.

Fans are furious, especially over the timing. Doors opened at 4:30 p.m. ET. Jelly Roll, Nate Smith and Bryan Martin were supposed to open at 5:30 p.m. Wallen canceled the show at 3:43 p.m.

“Thanks for the last minute advice!! I just threw a chair at the local bar… WTF!!” — @TheSportsAddic

“Guys cancel shows more often than fast food employees ask for time off. 😂” — @dmarcoveli

“Have some respect and do it before noon if you are really sick. It’s good that you waited until almost the start of the flight on a Friday in traffic to cancel. That’s amateur work!” — @philipjunda

“You woke up at 2:45? You look like you’re so hungover. Being a mediocre country singer is awesome. Good job man. You screwed your fans again. 👏🏼” — @Gambling400

“I can’t believe it. I’m so disappointed you waited so long to cancel the show. When people are already at the stadium. Do better, Morgan” — @sofiasanttana

To be fair to Wallen, he clearly looked sick in several videos from Thursday night. Many of his fans were forgiving of his illness. The timing of the cancellation is the bigger issue here.

Luckily, Jelly Roll is growing!

Big thanks to Jason Bradley DeFord. He is a true man of the people!

Jelly Roll continues to be one of the coolest dudes in music. Nashville loves him. America loves him.

Morgan Wallen, on the other hand, is back in the news for all the wrong reasons. You can’t help being sick, but you can cancel your concert well before people arrive at the venue!
