Doing a Robert De Niro impersonation is almost a ritual at this point in pop culture, with Matthew McConoughey being the second favorite. But according to Zac Efron, who has worked with Taxi driver himself, no one does a better De Niro impersonation than Dave Franco. Efron got to see Franco’s impersonation with his own eyes while filming NeighborsAnd it was during this shoot that Efron was counting on the fact that his own impersonation would be so bad it would be hilarious.

The steamy comedy about a couple with a newborn baby living next door to a fraternity house came out a decade ago, but Baywatch The star says he remembers it as vividly as if it were yesterday. In a recent edition of Vanity FairAs part of the scene selection, Zac Efron was asked to revisit the scene in which the fraternity brothers throw a party around Robert De Niro. The script called for Teddy Sanders, played by Efron, to do an impression of the legendary actor, and the Newspaper deliverer Star found it easier said than done:

In that particular scene, I remember not really having a De Niro impression, or even a very good one. I knew I was going to improvise and hopefully the worse it was, the funnier it would be. And it worked.
