Priscilla Presley Shocked Elvis Presley When She Filed for Divorce

Elvis Presley was shocked that Priscilla Presley wanted a divorce.

The 71-year-old actress, who was married to the late music legend for six years from 1967, revealed the musician was surprised when she wanted to end their romance, although Priscilla revealed she did not end their relationship because she was no longer in love with her former partner.

Speaking about the split on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ on Wednesday (16.11.16), the brunette beauty said: “It was a shock.

“I didn’t divorce him because I didn’t love him. He was the love of my life.

“As a woman, I didn’t know who I was. I realized I didn’t know who I was.”

And the star clarified that she left the “Can’t Help Falling In Love” singer because she wanted to “learn more” about the world.

She explained: “I left because I needed to find out what the world was like. It was one world, but we still loved each other.”

Although she admitted to still having a soft spot for Elvis – who died in 1977 – after their breakup, Priscilla admitted she never needed therapy to cope with the end of their relationship.

The “Dallas” star, who has 48-year-old daughter Lisa Marie Presley with Elvis, said: “It was a journey, but I never went to therapy.”

Meanwhile, Priscilla has revealed she has deleted all photos of herself with her ex-partner from her home because she is “worried” that anyone she dates after Elvis will be put off by her history with the American idol.

The businesswoman said: “I didn’t have any pictures to remind men that I was with Elvis Presley, because I always cared. I saw them face to face all the time!”

“I was so conscious of my relationships. With every relationship, I have to say that I was always friends (afterwards).”
