Reward offered for information on RTS bus driver attack

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The city of Rochester will release reward information following an incident in which an RTS driver was attacked in June.

A press conference will be held at 9 a.m. Monday morning, where Mayor Evans, the Rochester Police Department and CrimeStoppers will release information about the reward.


The reward information is related to an attack that occurred on June 18. According to the RPD, an RTS bus driver picked up two men sitting at the Bay Street bus stop. When the doors opened, one of them shot the driver with an air pistol before they both fled.

The driver was hit in the upper body and was taken to the nearest hospital. His life is not in danger.

No suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack. Police continue to encourage members of the public with information to call 911.
