The book provides a detailed overview of how EU Member States have implemented EU Directive 2019/633, which addresses unfair trading practices (UTPs) in the agricultural and food supply chain. The Directive aims to protect small, medium-sized and medium-sized agri-food suppliers from UTPs imposed by more powerful buyers. It also requires each Member State to designate a public authority to enforce these rules. Member States were required to transpose the Directive by 1 May 2021 and apply it from 1 November 2021.

As part of a larger project, which included a questionnaire and round tables organized by the KU Leuven – Consumer Competition Market (CCM) Produced in 2016, 2018 and 2023 by a research institute, this book brings together key information on the current state of legislation and enforcement of the Unfair Commercial Practices Directives. It presents in particular the national reports of the rapporteurs on the implementation of the Directive and related regulations on unfair commercial practices in all EU Member States.
