Photographer Who Accused Taylor Swift’s Dad Scott of Assault Breaks Silence

Scott and Taylor Swift

Ben McDonaldan Australian photographer who recently claimed he was assaulted by Scott Swiftspeaks openly about the alleged incident, saying TMZ he’s willing to drop everything if Papa Swift apologizes.

The altercation reportedly took place around 2:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday, February 27, in Sydney, Australia, at a ferry terminal where the father-daughter duo were seen disembarking from a yacht in the hours following their latest Eras tour in the country.

Footage of the incident, released by TMZshows Scott escorting Taylor, who was hiding her face from the paparazzi under a large umbrella, to a waiting vehicle alongside members of her security team, who hurried the singer into the back seat. None of the footage clearly shows the altercation in question, but things are clearly getting heated between the two parties.

A representative for Swift previously denied McDonald’s allegations, telling Parade that “two individuals aggressively approached Taylor, grabbed his security personnel and threatened to throw a female employee into the water.”

McDonald said the statement was “completely absurd,” according to the Daily Mailsuggesting that Taylor was the only woman present. “That’s the kind of bullshit I was expecting,” he added.

He doubled his bet for TMZsuggesting that the available footage tells the whole story: the photographers were not the instigators and the security guards became aggressive toward them, perhaps because the paparazzi discovered their whereabouts. That said, he acknowledged that the footage does not prove the assault.

Police are still investigating an “alleged assault after a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf.” Police declined to name those involved, but said it was the 51-year-old man (McDonald) who reported the incident. He did not require medical attention.
