Downtown Milwaukee parking operator ready for RNC

MILWAUKEE — As many visitors head to downtown Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention, parking will be very expensive.

Secure Parking USA operates all of its parking lots and garages in Milwaukee during the convention.

Mackenzie Lemon is a sales representative for Secure Parking USA.

Lemon said she owns several lots and garages inside RNC security zones and more outside of them.

“We have a pretty big presence,” Lemon said. “We’re known for our customer service, so we have a lot of people on the ground here.”

Lemon said the RNC’s presence here would be a plus for the fields and garages he operates.

“We know hotel occupancy is high, so the garages and the locations we have are located close to the hotels,” Lemon said. “We’re preparing to hire staff, especially when we know some people are talking. We’ll have a higher volume of staff, but we’re preparing to have a full team and we’re looking forward to that.”

Lemon said people interested in parking in one of its lots during the RNC can reserve online.

For those who don’t, parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

She also said that when looking for land in or near safety zones, you are encouraged to check online for possible restrictions.

“Parking is already a headache in itself, so we want to make sure we alleviate some of that,” Lemon said. “You’re not just coming here to park, but you’re coming here for the RNC or maybe to participate in the entertainment and attend an event. We want to make it easier for you.”

Lemon said the most important thing for Security Parking USA is to make parking less complicated for visitors and residents.
