Police used spike strips to stop a fleeing vehicle during a pursuit on Interstate 95 in Ridley early Sunday morning.

According to an information request release, about 3:08 a.m. troopers from the Philadelphia station initiated a traffic stop on a 2015 Infiniti G 37 on Interstate 95 south in Tinicim for vehicle code violations.

The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.

Local police spread spikes on the highway near Stewart Avenue at Route 291 and the vehicle eventually became disabled, at which time the driver and two passengers ran off.

The operator was quickly taken into custody while the two passengers fled into a densely wooded area and were arrested by assisting units, the news release said.

Philadelphia troopers were assisted by numerous local agencies as well as Media-based troopers.

Court records indicate Samad Sababu, 21, of Trenton, NJ, was charged with resisting and evading arrest. He was held on 10% of $25,000 bail which he posted Monday.

Jarrett Justice, 22, the driver, is a resident of East Windsor, NJ, and was charged with fleeing and eluding, evading arrest or detention on foot and related traffic offenses.

He was held on a 10% of $50,000 bail and was taken to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 29.
