‘Government will not remain silent’: Uttar Cabinet Minister Prakash Rajbhar on Doda terror attack

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) (India), July 17 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh government minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Tuesday termed the recent incident of terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district in which four security personnel were killed as “very sad” and said the government will not remain silent and there will be retaliatory action.

Four soldiers lost their lives fighting terrorists during the July 16 clash in Doda.

“The incident that happened today is very sad. Our government is taking continuous measures and will also respond to the incident. And for the responsibility of security that the people of the country have entrusted to the NDA, our government and Prime Minister Modi are committed to make all possible efforts to ensure the security of the people of the country and the country,” Rajbhar said.

He urged the opposition not to play politics around a possible terrorist attack and sought their suggestions on how to stop such attacks.

Rajbhar said: “The opposition should give suggestions on what can be improved; politics should not be conducted on the basis of a terrorist attack; Rahul Gandhi’s statement is his statement, but the government is doing its job.”

Opposition parties on Tuesday criticised the central government and said a united national effort was needed against cross-border terrorism.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge vehemently condemned the cowardly act and criticised the Modi government’s response.

“We are deeply saddened by the martyrdom of four brave Army soldiers, including an officer, in a terrorist encounter in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. Our thoughts are with the families of our brave men, who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of Bharat Mata,” Kharge said, expressing solidarity with the families of the fallen soldiers.

The Congress party criticised the central government by releasing an ‘X’ chart claiming that within 38 days of the Bharatiya Janata Party government’s third term, nine terror attacks had already taken place.

The message also mentions that in these recent terrorist attacks, 12 soldiers were killed, 13 were injured, 10 civilians were killed and 44 were injured.
