Are You Prepared for an Emergency? The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), in collaboration with WITF and the Franklin County Agency for the Aging, will host a critical workshop designed to help older adults prepare for a variety of emergencies. The workshop, titled “Preparing Together – Are You Ready PA?”, aims to provide essential knowledge and tools to ensure safety in the event of a disaster.

The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Chambersburg Senior Activity Center. This event is a unique opportunity for seniors to begin or continue planning for different types of emergencies. From what to do if the power goes out in your home to who will care for your pet if you have to leave your home unexpectedly, this workshop covers it all.

Participants will engage in activities to complement the “Preparing Together” workbook, a practical guide to help them prepare and protect themselves. The workbook, which has a magnet on the back for easy access on a refrigerator or other accessible location, will be a valuable resource for participants.

PEMA representatives trained in emergency preparedness will lead the workshop. Their expertise has helped others in Pennsylvania follow materials that help them be prepared for a variety of emergencies.

Don’t miss this important event at the Chambersburg Senior Activity Center. Join us on Tuesday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to noon to learn how to prepare and stay safe.
