Tottenham reject AC Milan offer for Emerson Royal

The Brazilian full-back has been playing for Spurs since 2021.

Tottenham Hotspur have rejected AC Milan’s initial €10m (£8.4m) offer for defender Emerson Royal.

A verbal and then written offer was made for the 25-year-old right-back. But it was quickly rejected because the asking price would be double the amount offered.

Saudi clubs and Borussia Dortmund have also expressed interest, but they have yet to contact Spurs for Royal.

Although Tottenham are keen to keep the Brazil international, they have been looking in the market for backup options in case the former Barcelona player leaves. Bradley Locko, a 22-year-old defender from Stade Brestois, is one of the players being considered by the Premier League club.

After the arrival of midfielders Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall as well as the extension of Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig, the club’s first objective remains to recruit a striker.

The team are looking to improve after finishing fifth last season. This week, Spurs will play exhibition games against Hearts and Queens Park Rangers before embarking on an Asian tour.

Players like Bryan Gil, Giovani Lo Celso, Djed Spence, Sergio Reguilon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are on the transfer list. Hojbjerg, who has one year left on his contract, is coveted by many teams, including Galatasaray.

The Turkish club’s vice president, Ibrahim Hatipoglu, told CNN that Hojbjerg is a great player. The player knows he has many suitors. He also said that after considering all the possibilities, he will decide on his future.
