A plane suffering from a suspected mechanical failure was forced to make an emergency landing on a beach near tourists.

The small plane was heading to Jacarepagu Airport, west of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from Espirito Santo, when an emergency was declared. Suddenly losing altitude, the plane lowered its wings and lost altitude. To the surprise of many people on Praia de Itaipua beach in Marica, the small plane landed quietly on the sand, near a place where people were sunbathing.
