CAA Announces 2023-24 Team Academic Excellence Award Recipients

RICHMOND, Va. (July 16, 2024) – CAA has announced the recipients of the Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2023-24 academic year.

The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes the school with the highest overall GPA in all 22 CAA-sponsored sports. The team GPA is a calculation of the overall average of each student-athlete who was on an institution’s roster through the final day of their respective championship seasons during the 2023-24 academic year.

Thirteen different schools had at least one team receive an academic excellence award. Monmouth led the way with five winners, followed by Hofstra with four, Elon with three and Drexel with two.

The winner of the Team Academic Excellence Award in 18 of 22 sports earned a team grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
