The zoo said she would nurse for six months to a year, but was already exploring the diet of adult giraffes. A video posted to X showed Willow curiously trying to share a snack with her mother.

Masai giraffes are on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species. Since the 1980s, their population has been steadily declining in many parts of Kenya.
