,000 reward offered for information on Ocala shooting that left woman dead

A 31-year-old woman was shot and killed in Ocala last month, and detectives hope an increased cash reward of nearly $10,000 will encourage anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

On Saturday, June 29, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Ocala Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of NW 20th Avenue in reference to shots fired in the area, according to OPD.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a deceased woman. She was later identified by Ocala police as 31-year-old Faye Porter.

A homicide investigation has been opened and the police department said in a social media post on Sunday, June 30 that detectives do not believe there is any danger to the community.

Law enforcement has not provided any further details regarding the shooting or potential suspects.

If you use Crime Stoppers and your information leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a $3,000 cash reward. Additionally, an enhanced reward of up to $6,500 is available through the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers, in partnership with the Florida Attorney General’s Office.

According to Ocala police, the additional $6,500 reward will be available through June 30, 2025, and the anonymous tip must come from Crime Stoppers to be eligible for the additional funds.
