Popular rock band’s comment on Trump assassination leads to cancellation of tour

Actor Jack Black and his band, Tenacious D, were scheduled to play the Bryce Jordan Center in State College in October.

However, it seems that this date has been postponed.

And that’s because during a concert in Australia on Sunday, his bandmate Kyle Gass made a rather rude comment when he handed over a birthday cake on stage and asked to “make a wish.”

What did Gass say?

“Don’t miss Trump next time.”

Australian Senator Ralph Babet is said to have He called for the group’s immediate expulsion from the country, and as you can imagine, the comment didn’t go down well in states where Black has openly supported Joe Biden.

For what it’s worth, Black said in an Instagram post that he was “caught off guard” by Gass’ comment.

“I will never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form,” he wrote on Instagram. “After careful consideration, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative projects are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

Black and Gass have been performing under the name Tenacious D since 1994.
