Reacting to the prices of South Indian food served at a restaurant in Bengaluru, one person wrote: “This is what I was paying 15 years ago in Mumbai.”

A woman from Bengaluru visited a South Indian restaurant to eat dosa, idli, vada and sambar, but a glance at the menu left her surprised by the prices. She took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a picture of the menu and compared it to that of Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe, which is famous for its South Indian cuisine.

“But what are these prices, Rameshwaram?” wrote X user Sahili Totale while sharing a photo on X. In the next line, she revealed the location of the restaurant. It is Bengaluru’s Taaza Thindi restaurant, which is located in Jayanagar.

One of the pictures shows the menu. According to the menu, only one idli and one vada costs 10, while masala dosa costs 20.

She also shared a picture of the items she ordered including dosa, idli and vada.

“I have been a fan of Taaza Thindi for the past 4-5 years,” posted one person.

Another added: “It’s much better than Rameshwaram.”

“You are so lucky that the prices are crazy. In Goa, we get overpriced South Indian food in so-called ‘new age’ fast food restaurants. Dosa is 120- “150 and it tastes like shit,” a third said.

A fourth posted: “Kolkata wakes up to idlis at Rs 55 each in South Indian restaurants.”

“Wow! This is the price I was paying 15 years ago in Mumbai. I wish they were offering these prices or even a little higher in Mumbai,” commented a fifth.

A sixth added: “It’s really cheap, in NCR normal restaurants like Haldiram sell masala dosa for around 250.”
