Love Island star faces jail after being arrested for dealing cocaine as part of £53million drugs smuggling operation

An old The Island of Love A candidate is facing jail after being caught smuggling cocaine as part of a drugs operation worth an estimated £53million.

Magdalena Sadlo, 29, appeared on the Polish incarnation of the hit reality show in 2021, when she was introduced as one of Casa Amor’s bombshells – designed to lure male contestants away from their potential partners.

She pleaded guilty to transporting class A drugs between March 2022 and May 2023 at Carlisle Crown Court this month.

The maximum penalty for this offence is 7 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both.

Sadlo was arrested in an investigation codenamed Operation Matrix after landing at London’s Heathrow Airport from Dubai.

By appearing on The Island of LoveSaldo described herself as a “spontaneous, confident blonde you can count on” and boasted that she had “stolen” someone’s partner before.

But her time on the show was short-lived after viewers took offence to her “creepy lips”.

Saldo’s LinkedIn page says she worked in sales until earlier this year, when she co-founded a luxury yacht charter company in Dubai in January.

Describing itself as a “one-stop shop for all boat charters and events,” it claimed to offer “hospitality and VIP experiences.”

“From sparkling birthdays by the sea to perfect marriage proposals, from intimate engagement parties to sophisticated dinners to high-stakes corporate meetings, we’ve got it all covered!” reads their website.

Saldo described herself on LinkedIn as having “a passion for customer service.”

The former reality TV star, who previously lived in Bracknell, Berkshire, will be sentenced later this year.

Nine men, also involved in drug trafficking, were sentenced in March to more than 106 years in prison after admitting conspiring to supply the Class A substance.

Manchester Evening News It seems that the majority of them are from the city.

While the maximum penalty for smuggling Class A drugs is seven years in prison, supply and production offences carry a maximum penalty of life in prison, an unlimited fine or both.

Prosecutor Tim Evans said: “This is an Amazon-style drug trafficking operation, with that level of organisation and commerciality.”

The operation, worth an estimated £53 million, was uncovered when police seized a 1kg stash of cocaine in Bowness-on-Windermere, in the Lake District, in February.

Saldo will remain in custody until sentencing.
