Teenager sitting at Aurora bus stop shot by passing car

DAWN | An unidentified teenager sitting at a bus stop in downtown Aurora was injured after being shot Thursday night by someone in a passing car, police said.

The boy was at an RTD bus stop at 1076 S. Sable Boulevard when the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m.

“He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound,” Aurora police spokesman Joe Moylan said in a statement.

Police said it was unclear whether the shooter was known to the victim.

“No information on the vehicle or suspect at this time,” Moylan said. “The investigation is ongoing.”
