Man found shot dead in Long Beach hotel room

LONG BEACH — A man was fatally shot in a Long Beach hotel room, and the search continued Friday for his killer.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of a shooting around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at a hotel in the 4100 block of Willow Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

“Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in a hotel room who had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers began providing medical treatment until they were relieved by Long Beach Fire Department personnel. LBFD personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” according to a department statement.

The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The motive for the shooting was unclear and no immediate description of a potential suspect was available.
