League Cup round-up: Hibs stunned by Kelty Hearts, Dons beat East Kilbride

Hibernians were shocked by Kelty Hearts as the Premiership side suffered defeat to the League One club in the Premier Sports Cup group stage.

A second-half goal from Callum Flatmann was enough to give Kelty all three points on Saturday afternoon.

Last season’s defeated finalists, Aberdeen made it two wins from two this season with a 4-0 victory over East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire.

Goals from Devlin, McGrath, Clarkson and Morris gave Jimmy Thelin his second win as he maintains a 100 per cent record since joining the Dons from Elfsborg in the summer.

Elsewhere, Motherwell beat Clyde 3-1, St Johnstone secured all three points with a 2-0 win over Greenock Morton in Perth and Ross County beat Raith Rovers 2-1.

All Scottish Premiership teams, with the exception of the five European Premier League sides, are in the group stage of the competition away to Hampden with the first trophy of the season on the line.

Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Kilmarnock and St Mirren will all enter the tournament in the second round.
