Liverpool U19s appear to have given fans a sneak peek at the away kit for the 2024/25 season. So far, Nike have only released the home kit, but eagle-eyed fans have spotted another kit in action.

This will be the last season of Nike kits, with Adidas set to take over from next season. It will also likely mean the end of collaborations with Converse, the latest of which has just been released.

It’s unclear exactly where this move will take the LeBron James crossover, though it could well end there. Nike has a lifetime contract with the basketball legend, but he’s also a shareholder in FSG.

Regardless, Nike and Liverpool still have two more official kits to release before this story is over. After revealing a striped home kit, the club has yet to reveal the away and third kits to fans, although leaks have emerged online.

And now we have the biggest away kit leak of all. It comes from within the club itself, with the U19 team reportedly sporting the new away kit ahead of time.

Some U19s continue to train with Arne Slot, while waiting for more experienced players to return. But those who are available are currently taking part in a rather unusual tournament, the German Cup, as the only non-German team involved in the pre-season competition.

The tournament had a difficult start, with the U19s losing 6-0 to Hoffenheim. The second match against Frankfurt ended in a 1-1 draw when Liverpool players retired due to racism, the second consecutive incident in the competition.

Naturally, the first priority is to find the truth. But in the meantime, Jack Lusby’s posts on X have shown the first outing of the new kit:

It’s quite a nice look, though this latest look only reinforces the idea that this is almost an exact replica of a New Balance model from a few seasons ago. Still, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, and we’ll no doubt be able to make a more in-depth assessment once official photos are available.

As of yet, no date has been set for the launch of the away kit, a predominantly black design with some green trim. But one would imagine that Liverpool and Nike would want to do so sooner rather than later now that these photos are available.

Liverpool.com says: A slight oversight on someone’s part here! Perhaps it was thought that the pictures from the friendly match wouldn’t surface online, but that underestimates the voracious appetite for any kind of Liverpool news and updates.

Perhaps if Liverpool weren’t one of the last two Premier League teams yet to complete a transfer, the kit detectives could have stayed away from the case. Let’s hope there’s a bright new signing on hand to model the jersey when it’s officially launched.
