Tom Sandoval Reveals Text Message From Ex-Girlfriend's Boyfriend

“Vanderpump Rules” star Tom Sandoval shared two text messages sent by his ex-girlfriend, Kristen Doute’s current boyfriend, Luke Broderick.

On July 20, Sandoval posted a screenshot of a text message written by Broderick on Instagram Stories. The screenshot showed that Broderick had reached out to Sandoval. According to the Instagram Story, Broderick wanted to let Sandoval know that he and Doute had spoken about Sandoval’s announcement that he would not be pursuing his lawsuit against Ariana Madix, whom he dated for nearly a decade until March 2023, on their podcast, “Balancing Act.”

“Hey man, Kristen and I are about to record a podcast that will be coming out later today. I saw your message and Kristen said we’re going to talk about it,” the July 18 message read. “Do you want to call me or say anything else about this whole ordeal?”

In another text message, Broderick shared his theory about why Sandoval initially filed a lawsuit against Madix. The “Valley” star referenced the fact that Sandoval’s ex-girlfriend, Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, is suing him and Madix. People magazine reported that Leviss “has sued Sandoval and Ariana Madix for eavesdropping, revenge porn and invasion of privacy.”

“For the record, I told him this was probably a lawyer’s move to separate him from Ariana in the stupid Rachel trial,” the message read.

In his Instagram Story caption, Sandoval said he was angry with Doute for her comments on the July 18 episode of the “Balancing Act” podcast. He also suggested he didn’t believe Broderick wrote the text messages.

“Really @kristendoute I was bold??? I know @luke_broderick didn’t a few minutes after I made a statement. … Besides, I’ve always had love for Luke,” Sandoval wrote.

USA Today reported that Sandoval “filed a counterclaim against his ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix in Los Angeles on July 16 for invasion of privacy, negligence and unauthorized access to a computer.”

According to the complaint, which was dismissed, Sandoval accused Madix of not having “authorization or permission” when she “reviewed images, information, data, videos and/or communications” on his phone on March 1, 2023, the night she realized he and Leviss were having an affair. Additionally, Sandoval alleged that Madix “made copies” of an explicit video of Leviss. According to Sandoval, “Levisss and third parties” received the video from Madix.

USA Today reported that Sandoval explained why he dropped the lawsuit on his Instagram account. Sandoval said he was misled by his former attorney, Matt Geragos.

“My attorney Matt Geragos, whose counsel I trusted, called me regarding the counter-complaint in the lawsuit filed against me and Ariana. He assured me that the action was standard and strictly preemptive in this type of lawsuit and urged me to accept it. The words ‘further lawsuit’ or ‘suit’ were not directed at me,” Sandoval said. “Under no circumstances am I suing Ariana. The lawsuit against Ariana filed on my behalf is dismissed. I have no ill will or grudge against Ariana. Now, by dismissing both the counter-complaint and the attorney who recommended it, I hope this matter is resolved quickly, so that Ariana and I can finally move on with our lives.”

Doute and Broderick discussed Sandoval’s decision not to pursue his lawsuit on the July 18 episode of “Balancing Act.” Broderick said he believes Sandoval wanted to sue Madix to protect himself in Leviss’ lawsuit.

“It’s probably something that’s just to separate Tom and Ariana. And it’s like a normal legal process, because in the case of distributing revenge porn or whatever, his lawyers probably said, ‘Look, if you file this against Ariana, it disqualifies you. Because she took it on your phone and therefore one of these charges can be dropped against you,'” Roderick said.

Doute said that if Broderick’s theory is true, then Sandoval’s actions were “cowardly.” She also said that after learning of Sandoval’s dismissal, she thought his behavior was “vile, disgusting, deplorable, vicious (and) revolting.”

Broderick then suggested that he had a better understanding of Sandoval because they were in communication.

“I know you know this guy. You’ve been dating him forever. But lately, I’ve been talking to Tom more than I’ve been talking to you. It caught me off guard. I thought, ‘This is so weird,’” Broderick said.

Doute added that she wasn’t happy with Sandoval. According to the James Mae founder, he wanted to appear on her and Broderick’s podcast. She said she declined his request because of her friendship with Madix.

“Tom Sandoval texted me from his phone to my phone to his birthday party. He also, dare I say, had the audacity to ask me if he could come on my podcast — our podcast — to talk about something else,” Doute said. “And I declined. Because it’s not something I wanted to talk about with a 10-foot pole.”

Doute also said she was pleased for Madix that Sandoval did not pursue the complaint. She said she immediately texted Madix to express her support.

Kristen Doute Talked About Luke Broderick’s Friendship With Tom Sandoval In June 2024

Doute discussed Broderick’s friendship with Sandoval, whom she dated for six years until 2013, during a June 2024 interview on Nick Viall’s podcast, “The Viall Files.” She said that “Luke really likes Tom.” She explained that while Broderick isn’t too close to Sandoval, he enjoys his company.

“He doesn’t really know him as a friend. So it’s nice to spend time with him,” Doute said.

Doute spoke about Sandoval and Leviss’ 2023 cheating scandal during an April 2024 episode of “Balancing Act.” She suggested that she regretted some comments she made about Sandoval after she found out he cheated on Madix in March 2023.

“I could have relaxed a little more,” Doute said.

She also said she and Madix had concerns about Sandoval’s mental health after the criticism he received following his cheating scandal.

“I started to get a little worried about Tom. Because things started to get really tense online. And people got hateful and mean and cruel. Even Ariana messaged him at that point,” Doute said. “I messaged her and said, ‘I need to message Tom. I want to make sure he’s okay.’ And she was like, ‘Absolutely.’ I was like, ‘I do. Is that okay?’ She was like, ‘Sure. Yes.’ She was like, ‘I do too.’ Because no one, no one deserves to feel hated.”
