Damon Lindelof reacts to his decision to quit racing for 2024

Joe Biden’s announcement today that he is withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race has given Damon Lindelof “a real buzz for the election.”

The first major Hollywood donor to publicly call on his supporters to withhold their money after Biden’s disastrous performance in the June 27 debate and to ensure the 81-year-old incumbent ends his re-election bid, Lost The showrunner of the series, Sunday, took to social media to congratulate the president. Declaring that “the embargo is lifted,” Lindelof also said he would “fully support anyone who can catalyze passion and engagement across our country… our ENTIRE country, without reservation.”

As you can see, Emmy winner Lindelof stopped short of offering her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, as Biden did, but praised the vice president for her own reaction to Biden’s announcement:

In his exclusive July 3 column for Deadline, Lindelof was blunt about what needed to be done for Biden to understand how the political landscape had changed dramatically after his rambling, often disjointed appearance in last month’s CNN debate against Donald Trump. “Checks give us access to power, and that’s the power that’s needed to persuade our pitcher to get out of the game, because, man, even when he’s four runs behind with the bases loaded and no outs, he’s always it looks like he has some good stuff”, The Watchers “We’re right there in the stands. Taking the first step to say what many were already thinking, Lindelof’s call was quickly followed by similar statements from Rob Reiner, Abigail Disney and George Clooney, among others in Tinseltown.

Today, Lindelof’s wife and advocate, Heidi Lindelof, wrote a note to Joe Biden on social media. “I hope that when the dust settles, you are able to fully understand and FEEL the gratitude of this nation for ALL that you have done!!,” the women’s reproductive health advocate said. Writing big checks on behalf of the ticket this year and even hosting a fundraiser earlier this summer with the Second Gentleman, the Lindelofs attended Biden and Barack Obama’s DTLA fundraiser on June 15, which raised over $30 million.
