NEET-UG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing Live Updates: Wide Distribution of Top Scorers Across New and Traditional Platforms

In a notable change in the NEET-UG results, over 2,300 candidates scored above 700 out of 720, with these top performers spread across 1,404 centres, many of them non-traditional training centres. This year’s medical entrance exam saw a record 23.33 lakh students take part, with 2,321 candidates scoring 700 or above.

These top scorers were spread across 276 cities, spread across 25 states and union territories, as well as some international centres. In contrast, NEET-2023 had a more concentrated distribution of high scorers: those scoring between 700 and 720 were spread across 116 cities and 310 centres, while scores between 650 and 699 were seen in 381 cities and 2,431 centres. Scores between 600 and 649 were scored across 464 cities and 3,434 centres.

Officials noted that while traditional education centres like Sikar, Kota and Kottayam continue to produce high achievers, a significant number of high achievers are also coming from other cities. This trend suggests that closer alignment of the NEET curriculum with higher secondary curricula is yielding positive results.
