Alyssa Milano Breaks Silence on Charmed Co-Stars’ Claims She Got Shannon Doherty Fired

Alyssa Milano has responded to reports that she was responsible for Shannon Doherty’s departure from the hit fantasy drama series. Charm in 2001.

Milano told an audience of fans at a panel in Orlando this week: “I knew this was going to happen one way or another, and I want to be very thoughtful in how I respond to all of this, and I’ll just say I’m sad.”

Without denying these claims, she added: “I don’t think it’s really because I’m sad about myself or about my life or because it affects my life or not.”

She continued: “I’m very sad for the fans. I’m very sad that a show that meant so much to so many people has been tarnished by toxicity that still lingers today, nearly a quarter of a century later.”

“I’m sad that people can’t move on. I’m sad that we can’t all just celebrate the success of a show that meant so much to all of us.

“I’ve worked really hard in my life over the last 25 years to heal all of my trauma, and it’s not just all of the trauma that I experienced while filming, but all of my trauma.

“I have worked very hard to heal these wounds because I understand that wounded people hurt others and my intention is to be a healed person who helps others heal.”

His comments come after his former co-stars Holly Marie Combs and Doherty discussed the show on the latter’s podcast. Let’s be clear.

Combs said a producer told him when Doherty left after three seasons, “Alyssa told us it was her or Shannen and Alyssa threatened to sue us for a hostile work environment.”

Charm aired for eight seasons beginning in 1998, a fantasy drama series created by Constance M Burge and produced by Aaron Speeling and his production company Spelling Television. Despite its great success, it was marred by constant talk of behind-the-scenes feuds and the departure of Doherty, its biggest star, after three seasons. The series was rebooted in 2018 on The CW, starring Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery.
