Jill Biden sends shocking message to Melania Trump after former first lady’s major announcement

Jill Biden reportedly made a gesture of compassion towards Melania Trump following the shocking assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

According to the Mail, the First Lady contacted Melania by phone on Sunday evening. Although Melania was not present at the event in Pennsylvania, it has been suggested that she will soon return to the spotlight for the first time in years following the incident targeting her husband.

The news comes as Melania prepares to attend the Republican National Convention this week, marking her most high-profile return to the political stage. She was notably absent from the June 27 debate between President Joe Biden and Trump and also did not attend her husband’s previous trial over bribe-taking charges.

Over the past year, Melania has hosted fundraisers for the Republican Party, including for the conservative LGBTQ group Log Cabin Republicans. In a similar vein, Trump said Biden was “very kind” to call him after the assassination attempt, which tragically left two people dead, including the attacker.

President Biden has sent his best wishes to Trump following the shooting, which also injured the former president. Trump told the New York Post that the conversation with Biden “went well,” the Mirror US reports.

He also suggested that Biden might have the leverage to convince the Justice Department to drop new criminal charges against him.

Biden on Sunday urged the nation to avoid political violence and embrace peaceful discourse, calling the upcoming presidential election a “testing period” after the recent assassination attempt. The shooter has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Pennsylvania, but his motives have yet to be determined.

In a solemn speech from the Oval Office, Biden stressed that while political fervor is appropriate, it should never escalate into violence. He stressed that Democrats and Republicans can engage in vigorous debates over their differing policy ideas, but it must be done respectfully.

“We are all facing a difficult time as we approach the election,” Biden said. “There is no place in America for this kind of violence — for any violence. Ever. Period. No exceptions. We cannot allow this violence to be normalized.”
