A Michigan man is accused of leaving his ex-girlfriend in Mercer County hundreds of unwanted messages, as well as stalking her.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police her ex-boyfriend, identified as 28-year-old Aldo Bardhi, has been stalking her since December of 2023 and leaving her hundreds of unwanted voicemails and text messages.

Police say the victim’s problems with Bardhi date back to December when the two got into an argument in front of the victim’s two young children in her home in Grove City.

Police say the argument eventually escalated to him grabbing her throat and strangling her until she was able to escape.

According to the complaint, the victim has been getting several voicemails and text messages from Bardhi since then with several being threatening in nature. Police say one voicemail said, “I am going to slit your throat you b****. I am going to f*****g kill you. I am going to put a bullet in your f***** g head.”

Police also mentioned a text message that reads “Those kids are going to see something you wish they never did. I am going to take that heart out of you, you ungrateful f***.”

The victim told police she estimates that Bardhi has called and messaged her over 300 times despite her asking him to leave her alone.

Additionally, police say Bardhi drove four hours from his Michigan home to the victim’s home in Grove City and sat in his vehicle outside the home.

Police also say Bardhi regularly orders DoorDash for her home on a regular basis asking delivery drivers to describe the vehicles at the residence so he knows who is there and even offered to pay the victim’s sister’s ex-boyfriend to drive to the victim’s house and tell him if she’s home.

Bardhi is facing numerous charges including strangulation, simple assault, terroristic threats, stalking and harassment. He was arrested on these charges July 22 and is due back in court August 21 for a preliminary hearing.
