Mallika Sherawat’s 2009 Tweet Predicts Kamala Harris As US President, Leaves Netizens Shocked!

As US President Joe Biden announced his decision to withdraw from the presidential race and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in his place, an old tweet by Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat resurfaced, creating quite a buzz. The tweet, from 2009, showed Sherawat sharing a moment with Harris and hinted at her potential future as US President. “Having fun at a fancy event with a woman they think could be President of the United States, Kamala Harris. Girls rule!” the tweet read. ALSO READ: Oh my God! The Simpsons have done it again! The cult series predicted Kamala Harris’ outfit in 2000 and Internet users are shocked

As soon as the tweet resurfaced, netizens were quick to draw comparisons between Sherawat and the famous French astrologer Nostradamus. Comments poured in, with users humorously calling Sherawat a “fancy version of Nostradamus” and speculating that she might be a “time traveler.” Some even compared her predictive prowess to that of English cricketer Jofra Archer, who is known for his own bizarre predictions on social media.

Sherawat, who had a successful career in Bollywood with popular films like ‘Welcome’, ‘Thank You’, ‘Murder’, ‘Guru’, ‘Aap Ka Suroor’, ‘Double Dhamaal’ and ‘Hisss’, took a break from the film industry and settled in the United States. In 2022, she made her comeback with the film ‘RK/RKay’, which starred Rajat Sharma, Ranvir Shorey, Kubbra Sait and Manu Rishi Chadha.

Meanwhile, actress Kangana Ranaut came out in support of Kamala Harris amid a spate of sexist remarks against her. Ranaut, though not a supporter of the Democratic Party, expressed dismay over the derogatory comments made against Kamala Harris, including being called a ‘call girl’. Ranaut pointed out the irony of such sexism in a country like the US, which prides itself on its modernity. “I don’t support Democrats but it’s funny that in America, an elderly woman politician who was the Attorney General of California has to face such sexism. Honestly, these Americans think they are very modern and all but they are so regressive, worse than Indians to be honest,” she wrote.

The reappearance of Sherawat’s tweet and the ensuing discussions highlight the unpredictable and often humorous way the internet connects past statements to present realities. It also highlights the persistent problems of sexism in politics, regardless of geographic boundaries.
