The event was originally scheduled to take place today.

But the rain, which had also spoiled the opening ceremony, claimed its first victim at the Paris Games.

World Skate released a statement announcing the news.

“Due to adverse weather conditions overnight and following a meeting this morning with all relevant organisers, the decision has been taken to postpone men’s street skateboarding at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to Monday 29 July,” he said.

The rescheduled event will see the preliminary rounds begin at 11am BST.

The top eight competitors from the four heats will advance to the final.

The medal presentation event will then take place at 4 p.m.

The women’s event is hoping to avoid a repeat of that situation, as the event is scheduled to begin tomorrow.

Skateboarding at the Olympics also includes a park event.

The women’s and men’s events will begin on August 6 and 7 respectively.

The five greatest Olympic moments of all time

Although Team GB have no interest in a medal in the street event, they have two competitors in the women’s park event and one in the men’s park event.

They are Sky Brown, who became Britain’s youngest ever medallist in Tokyo three years ago, and Lola Tambling, both aged 16.

Andrew Macdonald is the British team’s only medal hope in the men’s Park event.
