Excerpt from Batman: Caped Crusader: The Dark Knight can be very convincing

With less than a week to go until the animated series launches and in honor of San Diego Comic-Con 2024 (SDCC 2024) weekend, we have another look at the EPs. Bruce Timm, JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves, Ed BrubakerAnd Sam Register‘s Batman: The Masked VigilanteIn the clip below, we get a better understanding of how Batman earned his reputation as the World’s Greatest Detective – while also showing us that sometimes, you have to hang someone from a gargoyle on top of a building in front of an oncoming train to get the answers you need.

Set to hit screens on August 1, here’s the latest Prime Video preview Batman: The Masked Vigilante – followed by some information from Timm on what viewers can expect from the streaming series:

Talk with EmpireTimm gave us some hints about where Bruce Wayne fits into his crime-fighting timeline when he’s introduced to us. Additionally, he talks about Batman’s “eerie” and “creepy” vibe and the different roles Alfred will play in Batman’s nighttime activities.

Viewers Should Expect ‘Batman: Week 2’:”Batman is so early in his career that in the first episode he’s still an urban myth. This isn’t ‘Year One’ (a nod to Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s original comic book series). It’s more like ‘Week Two.'”

Batman doesn’t try to make anyone feel comfortable.:”I wanted to make it a little weird and scary. If you’re stuck in a room with Batman, whether you’re Commissioner Gordon or Barbara Gordon or Renee Montoya, you don’t feel comfortable. You’re kind of like, ‘What is this guy? What is this about?'”

Alfred will be more than Batman’s “adoptive father” in this series: “He (Bruce Wayne/Batman) turns Alfred into a weapon. He’s no longer Batman’s surrogate father. He’s a guy who’s going to allow him to fight crime. That’s how focused he (Bruce) is. It’s a strange vision of him. But it’s something I don’t think we’ve seen before.”

Prime Videos Batman: The Masked Vigilante The action takes place in Gotham City, a city as corrupt as it gets, where criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Enter Bruce Wayne, a wealthy, socialite who has used his tragic childhood pain to become something more and less than human: The Batman. While his lone crusade for justice will earn him unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, it won’t be long before his heroic actions are met with some very deadly and unexpected, not-so-heroic reactions.
