Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko 3 Sphere Co-Headliners

The trilogy fight between UFC women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko is finally happening.

Grasso vs. Shevchenko 3 will take place on Sept. 14 at the Sphere in Las Vegas as the co-main event of UFC Noche (also known as UFC 306), UFC CEO Dana White announced on social media Friday.

Hailing from Mexico, Grasso will proudly represent his home country on a card honoring Mexico’s Independence Day while Shevchenko will hope that third time’s the charm against the reigning champion.

The two fighters have faced each other twice before. The first encounter took place at UFC 285 in March 2023 and served as the co-main event of the card. Grasso defeated Shevchenko with a rear-naked choke in the fourth round. The victory shocked most of the world as it was one of the biggest upsets in history.

The second encounter took place six months later at the first edition of the UFC Noche. The fight was hard-fought and lasted 25 minutes. Although everyone had their opinion, the only ones who mattered were the three judges, who collectively awarded the match a draw.

Since the second fight, the two flyweights have trained against each other on “The Ultimate Fighter 32,” which is still airing today.

With this addition, the Noche UFC lineup includes:

  • Champion Sean O’Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili – for the bantamweight title
  • Champion Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko – for the women’s flyweight title
  • Diego Lopes vs Brian Ortega
