South Korea demands meeting with IOC president over opening ceremony blunder

South Korea’s sports ministry said Saturday it wants to meet with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach over a gaffe at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony in which South Korea was mistakenly referred to as North Korea during the athletes’ parade. In a statement, the ministry said Jang Mi-ran, the second vice sports minister who attended the ceremony in the French capital on Friday, has asked the IOC to hold a meeting with Bach over the incident.
