FBI Confirms Trump Was Shot Following Wray Testimony

The FBI has confirmed that former President Trump was shot in the ear in an assassination attempt after agency director Christopher Wray asked what hit his ear earlier this week.

“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, either whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” the agency said in a statement emailed to The Hill Friday.

Trump was the victim of an assassination attempt earlier this month. He said he was shot in one of his ears. He was seen wearing a bandage several times after the shooting.

The former president insisted Thursday that a bullet hit his ear, after FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before Congress on Wednesday, during which he said: “There’s some question as to whether it was a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.”

“No, unfortunately it was a bullet that hit my ear, and it hit it hard. There was no glass, no shrapnel,” Trump said on Truth Social. “The hospital said it was a ‘gunshot wound to the ear,’ and that’s what it was. No wonder the once-famous FBI has lost America’s trust!”

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), a former White House physician who said he treated the former president after the incident, challenged Wray’s questions about what hit Trump’s ear.

“During the congressional hearing two days ago, FBI Director Christopher Wray suggested it could have been a bullet, shrapnel or glass,” Jackson said in a letter published Friday on Truth Social.

“There is absolutely no evidence that this was anything other than a bullet. Congress should correct the facts, as the hospital and I have confirmed. Director Wray is wrong and it is inappropriate to suggest otherwise,” he added.
